//BLINDED

//BLINDED is the brainchild of my friend and fellow artist Baptiste Leroux. The runtime of the film is just shy of about 7 minutes, and I was the lighting and rendering lead for the film. The whole project was completed in Redshift and Maya over the course of about 8 months. The film was aiming for a graphic look with a lot of rim lighting, contrast, and atmosphere.

Clips

Car Interior

We wanted this shot to feel both dynamic and pleasing to the eye, thus I lit Sophie considering her face both in shadow and in full sun.

Interior Main

This space was an interesting challenge because the camera moves a lot, and the 180 rule was broken. There’s over 50 lights in this scene, many of which are constantly moving. I also wanted to add fog and dust particles using MASH.

Lake Main

This shot was my personal favorite. Differentiating from the dark and contrasty interior, this space was designed to feel light and airy, but still carry a feeling of fakeness/remoteness.

Some Other Shots I Lit

Here are some of my other favorite shots in the film in no particular order.
